Nathan Horn-Mitchem
Nathan Horn-Mitchem joined SMBC MANUBANK in July 2022 and serves as Managing Director, Chief Information Security Officer. In this role he is responsible for establishing security strategy, direction, and best practices across the organization. Nathan brings more than 15 years’ experience in technology security across regulated industries as well as a strong background in regulatory compliance, managing complex global projects, and staff development. He oversees alignment of the security vision and culture of cyber-risk awareness with SMBC Americas Division while implementing a program specific to the risks of commercial lending and digital consumer banking.
Some of Nathan’s notable accomplishments include building a regional bank’s cybersecurity program as its asset doubled in size, spearheading the evolution of a global bank’s risk and control catalog, and implementing a GRC platform for a global financial services firm.
Prior to joining SMBC MANUBANK, he served as Chief Information Security Officer at Provident Bank. Previous roles also include Information Security consultant for Accenture, leading global security projects for top multinational financial services companies, and participating in a technology leadership program at Johnson & Johnson.
Nathan earned a Bachelor of Science in Operations & Information Management from Georgetown University and holds a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification. He has been featured in several business technology journals and spoken at numerous security conferences.
He is married to his high-school sweetheart and has 3 children.
