Ian Duplock
Managing Director, Chief Audit Executive
Ian Duplock became Managing Director, Chief Audit Executive for SMBC MANUBANK in November 2024 and is a member of the bank’s Management Committee. He also serves as Deputy Chief Audit Executive for SMBC Americas Holdings, Inc. (SMBC AD), of which SMBC MANUBANK is a wholly owned subsidiary. Ian’s responsibilities include designing and executing the bank’s 3-year Audit Operational Plan. He joined SMBC AD in 2020 as Head of Risk and Lending Audit. In that role, Ian developed the audit strategy for financial and non-financial risks and oversaw the execution of all audits of the risk division and front office lending businesses.
Ian brings more than 30 years of financial services experience covering internal and external audit, credit risk governance and control frameworks, risk policy and systems, operational risk management, and model risk management.
Prior to joining the organization, he held multiple senior positions at Credit Suisse, including Global Head of Credit Risk Governance and Global Head of Credit Risk Infrastructure, Reporting and Analysis. Ian also spent four years at KPMG in the Infrastructure and Government audit practice.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in computing science from Loughborough University in England and is a CFA charter holder and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
