Karen Feldstein
Managing Director, Head of Sales and Trading Audit
Karen Feldstein became Managing Director, Chief Audit Executive (CAE) for SMBC MANUBANK and joined the bank’s Management Committee in September 2022. She also serves in the capacity as a Functional Audit Head for SMBC Americas Holdings, Inc., of which SMBC MANUBANK is a wholly owned subsidiary, and as key liaison for the SMBC MANUBANK Board of Directors, executive management, and regulators (including FRB, FDIC, DFPI, FINRA, CFTC and NFA). Karen’s responsibilities also include designing and executing the bank’s 3-year Audit Operational Plan.
With more than 20 years of internal and external auditing experience covering the financial services industry, Karen specializes in investment and commercial banking including debt, equity and leveraged capital markets, sales and trading, real estate and mortgage finance, and financial and regulatory reporting.
Prior to joining the organization, she held multiple senior positions at UBS including Audit Head of Investment Banking Americas, Global Audit Head of Corporate Banking and Global Audit Head of Finance and Regulatory. Karen also spent five years at Ernst & Young in External Audit and Advisory where she was responsible for leading the Financial Statement Audits of large investment and commercial banks.
She holds a Bachelor of Finance and Accounting and Master of Business from the University of Toronto and has completed CPA designations in Canada and Australia.
